Are you a hands-on learner (or family of learners) looking to get your hands in the dirt while gaining knowledge and skills?

Do you want to make friends AND make a difference in the world? You don’t need any gardening experience, just a willingness to learn, be kind, and work steadily for around 3 hours. WEDNESDAYS and THURSDAYS, we’ll join together for opening circle from 9:30-10 where we warm up with stretches and yoga and go over the day’s adventures. From 10-2 (with breaks for lunch and snacks) we’ll be busy creating and tending gardens, making trails for humans, habitats for animals (and fairies), and helping the plants to grow! Plus, you’ll get to participate in the creation of a UNH master gardener project, the Native Plants of Ndakinna trail, and learn about botany, gardening, wildcrafting, herbalism, permaculture principles, and native habitats!

This is a physical day - some of the ways we’ll move our bodies include: bending and squatting, using pruners and loppers and other fun tools, lifting rocks and plants, pulling weeds, shoveling soil, pushing wheelbarrows, raking leaves, walking over uneven terrain. Neurodivergent folks and folks with different physical abilities are welcome. If you’d like to participate but have questions, just reach out to Jessica at (802)578-7931.

Participants are asked to wear clothes and shoes they are comfortable gardening and building in, as well as bringing bug repellent and sunscreen, and a bagged lunch, snacks, and water bottle. All children must be accompanied by their adult(s) at all times, and there must be at least 1 adult for every 2 kids in your group.

We will meet outside rain or shine (unless there are thunderstorms or similar, in which case we can meet the next day, Thursday).

Cost is $20/day per group - the more the merrier - or $120 for the whole season (a 50% discount)! If this is prohibitive, please let Jessica know. No refunds are given after May 8th.
